What tests do we provide?

16S rRNA gut microbiome test

Providing a comprehensive map of gut microbiome to analyze the risk of multiple symptoms including

  • Allergies
  • Eczema
  • Metabolic syndrome
  • Diarrhea
  • Constipation

> Suitable for people aged 3 or above

> Reports issued in 6-8 weeks

Quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) test

Quantitative detection of specific intestinal species using quantitative real-time PCR with fluorescent dye. It is suitable for people who want to know more about particular disease(s) and intestinal flora.

> Suitable for infants/children aged 0-3

1.  Baby First 1000-day gut health testing panel

Question 1: Is there any difference in the results for 16S rRNA Gut Microbiome Test and 5 panels of Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR) DNA Test?

16S rRNA Gut Microbiome Test can provide a more comprehensive distribution of the bacteria in the intestine. Generally, the types of bacterial species which can be analysed are more than 160. On the other hand, 16S rRNA Gut Microbiome Test can undergo the analysis for the richness and diversity of the species. Less healthy individuals will have less bacterial distribution and diversity in their intestine. This situation is called intestinal dysbiosis. Intestinal dysbiosis will increase the risk of different related diseases, such as obesity, eczema and diarrhea. Besides, we will include five diseases risks evaluation in the 16S rRNA Gut Microbiome Test, which are obesity, diarrhea, constipation, allergy and eczema. Total of 6 to 8 weeks are needed from the collection of samples to the completion of reports.

Question 2: If I would like to know which probiotics are beneficial to my gut health, which test is more suitable?

If you would like to understand which type of probiotics are beneficial to your gut health, we would suggest you to choose the qPCR DNA Tests. qPCR is a type of quick test, which can accurately detect the relative abundance of different bacterial species. Our probiotics qPCR test includes common types of probiotics, and each of the type has a great impact to health. Therefore, you can perform one test to know which type of probiotics you are lacking, and then choose a suitable probiotic supplement to achieve a healthier gut microbiome state.
